How about offering a package deal with the Kevlar straps and spectra UCR with continuous loops? Ultralight suspension to go with my SLD 1.0 hexon Trail Lair hammock...
I'd probably spring for the exact combination you mentioned, as well.

What's the minimum diameter you tried with the spectra line for hammock and tarp applications?

I've made ridgelines with 1.2mm for my tarp and tie outs. It works well but it's a pain in the neck to splice. I use 1.6mm and 1.7mm for tarp applications typically.

I've not gone below 2mm for hammock suspension. It's rated at 1000 lb breaking strength so that gives a nice safety margin. I worry about safety below 2mm.

However, I did talk with a guy recently who made himself 1.2mm UCR's that he is using...Not for me.

Thank you, Cloudautumndays. I've always been about amsteel. Now you got me interested to try out the spectra line.

Keep up the good work in pushing the No-Hardware Ultralight suspension and tie-outs projects.

I'd love to try out a "packaged" no hardware suspension kit you've described & shown in your pics... are you going to add this setup that to your product line up on your website?

Love your stuff and appreciate your contributions!

    Two questions...

    1. Do you have any 2mm Spectra in a more subdued color like a totally boring black or gray?

    2. I'm a fan of evo loops. When I order, can you move that button knot from the hammock loop end of the UCR over to the hammock continuous loop to make it an evo loop?

It provides a touch more flexibility for a short distance hang when I need to Becket hitch my tree huggers directly to my hammock loops. I like how the knot on the hammock evo loop eases release of the hitch.

Hello, I do have 2mm in black as well.

I can make you a pair with a loop on the end as opposed to the button knot. Going that route if your hammock already has evo loops you will be good to go. You can put a thinner line around a thicker line/thicker button knot. You just cannot put a thicker line around a smaller line and smaller button knot and expect it to hold properly.

    Thank you.

Glad to know you have boring black, and really helpful to know how the thin/thick combinations work or don't work. Thanks!

I will. I think it's a good idea. I will make a package deal where you choose between Dyneema and Kevlar webbing and either 2mm whoopies or 2mm UCR's.

Fathers Day is coming up and I know my family would love to make me happy with one of these new ultralight suspension systems. Take my money and lead me further down the gram weenie path.
