    Quillow top quilt

I can't recall seeing anyone ever mention this setup, but this is my favorite type of top quilt.

For non-quilters out there, a Quillow is a quilt with a square sewn into the bottom middle of the quilt. The quilt then can be folded up and inserted into the square and turns into a pillow as an option or for storage. What this does is give you a pocket where you can insert your feet if you don't fold the quilt up inside the pillow cover.

We've been using this type quilt for years for camping (and TV watching at home). For anyone with rudimentary sewing skills, even hand sewing, it's super easy. All you need is a small piece of material that your feet with fit inside comfortably. A simple down or synthetic quilt can be turned into a top quilt with the addition of this little piece. It works well on the Costco down throws, in case anyone is interested in trying.

I can't take credit for it. Someone in some long ago quilting circle came up with the idea, and it's a keeper.
