Neither. My lines stay attached to the tarp GG loops with either a Becket hitch or DIYworms. hardware as part of the tarp is just extra weight and one more thing that can fail.
I would suggest like others, pick a default and offer a drop down for other options.

I like Linlocs as an option, since they're pretty specific requiring the right kind of line and size. And there's not really options to use them other ways unless you get creative. The "v" can also wear out on them causing slippage, then you're looking at some repair work to replace. But I haven't experienced this yet. That actually may take so much use that it's not worth worrying about.

A simple ring is a good standard. They give you the ability to use knots, hardware, anything really. You can always cut them off if you change your mind later for a few dollars lost. Also nice for porch mode since the point usually fits thru the ring nicely. And I feel like I get a tighter setup tarp with rings/hardware because of more mechanical advantage.

I'm a pretty staunch no-hardware advocate, but plain grosgrain loops don't work for me because I use an adjustable (Blake's) hitch at the tarp end and there is some "sawing" action when the guyline is made taut, and it seems to me that over time this could wear out the grosgrain. I use Glowire which has a somewhat rougher texture than Zing-it, so that is a factor.

D-Rings. I stick Prussics on them and go w/o any other hardware or knots. I still use braided mason line for the Prussics. Bites into Glowire way better than Zing-it.

Glowire also bites into Glowire pretty well. Blake's hitch takes a set very quickly and doesn't untie itself.

My ENO starter tarp came with Linelocs. I guess I have matured, I now find them limiting.

I'm not a fanatic either way, but that sure looks pretty. I don't tie a lot of knots and don't use too much hardware. Dutch hook, and Wasp. The Prusik and Continuous loop are tied once and hopefully never again.

I like to prusik the loop to the glowire, then larkshead the loop to D-ring. This leaves all tie-out adjustments @the tarp and I can get to them without getting out from from under coverage, if it's really coming down. Learned it from someone else on HF naturally.

Worms. They are tiny, stay attached to the cord so I don't lose them, and are fast to attach and detach. I was worried about using them with gloves but it wasn't a problem all last winter.

This did not register precisely with me at first, but that is actually a very clever application for tarp guys. I have used it for split ridge lines and it works great.
