I like to prusik the loop to the glowire, then larkshead the loop to D-ring.
This did not register precisely with me at first, but that is actually a very clever application for tarp guys. I have used it for split ridge lines and it works great. Now that I can splice I need to re-do these and make them neater with larksheaded CLs as you suggest.

This was my very first ground corner setup.. but I learned to hate prussik knots. This is what led Sqidmark and I come up with the mini-ucrs, which I still use albeit at the ridge line only. Far easier for me to adjust even cold & wet, and with the tag end of the line going through the corner hardware you can create a 2:1 advantage. Below is the early, crude girth hitch setup direct to the corner grosgrain on a Superfly door. Sqid used these exclusively on the ground corners. I use them in winter spliced to the Beastie D on the HG Palace. There's another vote for Beastie D's...

I'm a pretty staunch no-hardware advocate, but plain grosgrain loops don't work for me because I use an adjustable (Blake's) hitch at the tarp end and there is some "sawing" action when the guyline is made taut, and it seems to me that over time this could wear out the grosgrain. I use Glowire which has a somewhat rougher texture than Zing-it, so that is a factor.
If you tie a small loop to the grossgain, it can be a sacrificial piece, that you can replace when it wears out.
