If I had to pick just one, I'd vote D-rings. More versatile. In fact, Lineloc hooks can be attached to D-rings to give the best of both worlds, at the sacrifice of a tiny amount of extra weight, bulk, complexity, etc.
I've never broken a plastic D-ring, but if that did happen, I'd replace it with a split ring or two. Split rings might be even more versatile than the plastic D-ring.

If I had to pick between those 2 I guess I would go with the line loc. It would take a real smooth talker to talk me out of my fleaz though....

Line locs are simple, easy and I don't have to deal with insects.

My tarps have both Line Locs and Beast D Rings. Use the Beasty Ds for internal pole mods and Line Locs for my guy lines.

Putting LineLoc 3's on a tarp as the default prevents customers from being able to use certain types of guyline, for example the popular Atwood Micro Cord (1.2mm), Zpacks Z-Line (1.2mm), or Dutch Wire (1.3mm).

Line loc 3's. I actually have both at each attachment point to allow additional flexibility at the cost of some grams. I find it quicker to set up and easier to adjust. Being able to adjust in the rain while still being under the tarp is one of the main features for me.

Honestly? Just grosgrain loops. I tie the lines to the tarp anyway, so it doesn't make much difference.
