Thanks for bringing up the question Dutch. I just got a thread injector and was thinking of making my own pack and was wondering about that mesh stuff. Let us know what you find out.

I think that their Lycra mesh on that link is more what I am looking for. I sent for the sample from Seattle fabric. I didn't want to spend shipping for a $2 sample so I started looking around, before I knew is my total bill was $50. Now I think I'm commited to Seattle since I already spent $50 and I haven't even ordered the material yet. DIY is never cheap.

I have used their Lycra mesh for a pad pocket and would not recommend it for an outside pocket. The polymesh from Quest is non-stretch.

Hey, if you haven't found anything yet, I happened across this: http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Ha...ric-Desert-Tan It says 4-way stretch, which I assume is what you're looking for. It's not black, so obviously not what's in the G4, but might work?

The best I came up with os Seattlefabrics Power mesh.

Looks thicker than the ULA mesh but still very close and will work for me.
