That’s what I felt like every time I rolled into a town stop on my Appalachian Trail thru hike. So it got me wondering..... do you ever wash your hammock? How?

That, good sir is the best question since “pee or not to pee from a hammock”. And come to think of it, I don’t think I have ever washed any of my hammocks and I went to hammocks about 5-6 years ago. This is going to get interesting.

Nah, that was never a good question. If you pee from your hammock, you're a sick individual. haha.

I wash mine every other trek. But I hike in the tropical jungles, and my trips can be 2 weeks long. So it’s inevitable to get some sweat and grime on the hammock.

I use a mild detergent most of the time, and once every several months I dunk it in a bucket of Sink the Stink diluted in water.

No wash ... but then again I always sleep in a sleeping bag liner when in hammock ... also helps keeping top quilt clean. Also biodegradable wet wipes.

All that said, I also try to not let hammock touch ground.
