Helion - the ultimate waterproof breathable fabric.

I am very proud to anounce our latest in our fabric line. Helion is an extremely waterproof yet vapor breathable light weight fabric. How waterproof, it is coming in at 25,000 mm and most UL tarp fabrics are only 1000-3000. But where it really shines is its vapor breathability. 75,000 on the breathability. This is better than many of the very best rain gear is made from. I wanted the perfect rain gear and when I looked around I couldn't find anything with these high ratings so we decided to develop it for the DIY crowd (and me). Also this material is extremely light. It is a 5, yes 5, denier 3 layer fabric and only weighs 1.5 ounces per sq yard. Perfect for rain gear, bivies, socks, gaiters. I want to try it as an UQP, or top cover. We are starting with two colors, green and blue, but hope to add more in the very near future. We have been working on this for a long time and you can look for new products from us and other cottage vendors. I am excited for this and hope you are too.

Do you have future plans for Dutchware to make rain gear from the fabric and sell it that way, like you have done with your Argon and Xenon apparel items? Or will it only be sold as fabric?

Congrats on what sounds like an exciting material.

    And nice T-shirt.

That sounds like an awesome material - Especially for a top cover or sock and rain gear.

Will watch the vid later....but do you sell a seam tape for it? I'm seeing potential for a better-than-eVent bivy!!! Perhaps a Dirigible!

Better than Event bivy is what I am thinking too. Plus rain gear. We will have seam tape very soon.

Pricing by the 'half yard' doesn't lower the pain for me!! $42 USD/yard!
Have you done any durability tests on this fabric? De-lamination is a problem with most membrane fabrics like GoreTex and EVent.

    BTW, the makeyourgear.com website isn't working.dutch site.JPG

75,000! Sounds too good to be true but I trust you Dutch! I'm looking forward to seeing some applications people come up with.
