Sounds good to me. I am on holidays after all. Its not a power tour its enjoying the french as long as I can in the time available.
I will be bringing my solar panel for charging stuff. It can do aaa and aa and usb.
    Weather is looking awesome.
    One more sleep!
Btw. Bringing my portable fishfinder as well. Not doing the french without a fine meal of walleye. Mmmm
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.

    Hi Gang,

Following up on what Keewaykeno just said I'd just like to confirm the first part of our itinerary.

Note: I'm using the Unlostify map to identify site numbers. Hopefully that'll help as we all try to rendezvous. I'll fly a Canadian flag with my black EGL flag underneath as a marker.

    • Tuesday morning: Meet up at Hartley Bay Access Point: Looks like there might be two sets of arrivals 8:30-9am and 10am+, so we'll see how it goes.
    • Tuesday night: Camp on Eastern Outlet upstream of the Dalles Rapids. We'll start 622 and work our way west to the first suitable site. 626 and 627 actually look pretty cool being right next to the rapids.
    • Wednesday night: Camp near the mouth of the Eastern Outlet. We'll start 718 and work our way west to the first suitable site (718-714 descending).
    • Permits: There seem to be at least 3 permits in the group so far, Keg, Keewaykeno and 76Highboy. Personally I'm hoping to join onto one of theirs.

Safe drive everyone and we'll see you up there.

Correction... I am planning on Thursday morning launch. Checking the map, from Hartley to 718 looks like can be done in a day no problem. I plan to follow the same route, so as to pass Dalles.

Isn't everyone on their own permit? since no sites are reservable i was under the impression rate were individually based.. (9 per site is the Ontario Parks max for backcountry) which can be purchased at Hartley Bay marina.

For what it's worth, I only thought that the park wouldn't likely overbook the sites, so if they had, say, 200 sites, they'd only issue 200 permits for a particular day. Since we're likely camping (or near*) on the same site, then we'd need only 1 or 2 permits (we already have 3 or 4) to cover the group.

Finally, I think if our Wednesday night site is nice, we might want to make Thursday an official "jour de repos".

622 is a nice site, we stayed there 3 years ago, but I don't think it will hold a large group, we will likely have to spread some

On the off-chance someone sees this, I've postponed and will be going in Thurs with Iguana.
