Woohoo! I"ll have a 10x10 with extra tie outs in a couple weeks. I just had an awesome talk with Paul at Etowah. I thought the extra tie outs would just be stitched in with a backing to reinforce it a litte, but turns out the way it's done is put the tie outs on seams to add extra support so I don't end up having stretched out spots.

I've been on the fence for a tarp for at least a couple years...so this is kind of a big deal for me...I think I jumped the gun by a month.

The Etowah Outfitters tarp arrived today with 50 ft of cordage and seam sealer. Can’t wait to get off work and set it up. I’ll seam seal it this weekend.

17.15 oz with the stuff sack. Sweet.

And today my order from Dutch: A package of dinky splicing hooks, 100 ft Zing-It, 50 ft Lash-It, and 1/8 in shock cord. This ought to be fun.

Sweet, I know how much you've been looking forward to it.

While I mentioned elsewhere about preferring a simple folded wire for splicing Zing-It, I do find at least one good use for those small latch hooks. I like to use the hook element of one of the smaller ones (not the smallest) to grab and pull strands out of the braid for tapering.

Weather looks promising to seam seal on Friday afternoon and get Saturday PM thunderstorms. Might have a chance to check the amount of sag to compensate for with bungee.

I’ve too many crossing threads so will update the original “attachment hardware or software... “thread.
