How do you repair a rip in a cuban fiber tarp?

Can anyone direct me to a video showing how to repair a rip in a cuban fiber tarp? I got caught in a hellacious windstorm, my tie out came loose and the tether snapped back with the stake and went through the tarp? The tear is about 3" long.

    Cuben fiber repair patch.

    It'll be good as new.

Sorry to hear about the demise of the tarp. My HG cuben tarp came with a repair kit, but given the size and location of the tear, I'd sent it back for professional help.

Duct tape or Gorilla Tape will stick to it. Gives it that well used look.

That's not a large rip at all. The cuben fiber repair tape was made for these small rips. The repaired area will be stronger due to the double layer.

THIS. There's no reason to send it anywhere to fix.

Indeed, I wouldn't blink an eye about doing that myself. Shipping cost back and forth would be outrageous for this little ding... and the downtime?? Fuggedaboudit!

Gotta agree with the DIY suggestions

You can fix that yourself. Since it's a rather ragged tear, I would pick up a large repair patch and cut a circle just bigger than the tear and apply that to one side. The circle will be less likely to lift than the corners of a square or rectangle, though.. if you've ever worked with the repair tape/patches.. that stuff sticks really well. If any of the glue back exposed on the opposite side, you could add a narrow piece of repair tape over the so the patch doesn't stick where you don't want it.

Battle scars and trail patina are a good thing. You'll tarp will be as good as new and you'll have a cool story to tell while you pound your chest for having repaired it yourself.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I can't remember where I bot my repair tape but it is like decals of different outdoor images for small spots. One is a Big Foot. Now that one would look good over a little hole like that !

Or you could do what Shug says and put on some Gorilla tape;maybe a piece of tenacious tape.I would fix it myself before sending it back for repair if that were my tarp.
