Do you run a ridge line?

Continuous over the top. This lets the ends flair up if it's not tight. Let's you get a few inches closer to your hammock without rubbing.
A trekking pole pull out works better over vs under as its pulling against a tight line compared to just a taut tarp. It has a higher vantage point, potentially allowing a larger pull.

It's probably me, but I think it's easier to adjust right to left.

I often will have an non-structual ridgline under the tarp too to hang things from if I'm spending more then a day in camp or if I expect to get soaked from the days hike. Just a line of 1mm braided fishing line with zingit soft shackles on the ends.

I never understood the "easier to center the tarp" statements that people make regarding the continuous set-ups. I don't imagine I'm less picky than others but I mostly get it right the very first time. I also sometimes struggled with tautness with a continuous ridgeline. I mean, it worked, but sometimes looked wrong, kinda saggy. I always used it over.

I completely agree, especially if you are mostly using the same combination of tarp and hammock. It doesn't take long before you get a sense for how much the tarp should overhang beyond the end of the hammock when you're setting up the first side of the split ridge ties. If you get the first side right, the other side is right by default.

That said, I use split ridge ties with Stingerz and I also have about 4 continuous ridgelines of varying constructions. Sometimes I choose based on what I think is best for a given situation and other times I just use something different for the sake of experimenting. I was a bit late to the party in trying out Nama Claws, but I tested those with a continuous ridgeline from Autumn Ultralight when she opened her website a few months ago. That's a nice system.

I run a Zing-It continuous ridgeline with a Dutch hook and Wasp like others have said. I use fairly large CLs also made of Zing-It. Since the CLs are the same diameter as the ridgeline, I use five loops in my prusik knots. I attach mini S-biners to the ends of my tarps and Snake Skins. That way I can just clip the tarp to the prusiks and open it up. I keep the tarps separate from the ridgelines as I also have a Tensa 4 stand and don't use a ridgeline on it for tarps. I use the tarp extensions for the 12 foot tarp and just use the stand ridgeline for the 11 foot tarp.

I don’t believe one method rules them all. I’ve switched back and forth over the years and currently settled on split ridgelines.

I use end only ridge-lines. I've never seen the benefit of running a continuous ridge-line and its just extra weight to me.

I switch depending on season. Winter - continuous RL using a Dutch Hook and a Stinger combo under the tarp, and Prussics or Kliemhiests for centering, especially if snow/ice is forecast.
Three other seasons I like the ease and speed and smaller lines of split lines (Zing-it) just using Stingers.
Part of the fun of hammock camping is playing with all the different ways to set up!
Now, where did I put those Nacrabingers again?
