    I've stopped by half a dozen Walmarts in the last week. No ripstop. Did buy some cheap polyester to build a "practice" version before I risk my sewing skills on the real thing. Stopped by JoAnns today. Regular price is $6.99/yard. Use the half off coupons.

    FTR I made my indoor sleeper (now retired) out of Walmart cheap polyester. Held up like a champ. Lots of people like the polyester better than the ripstop nylon. You might just end up with a keeper.
    I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    i used the websites that you guys mentioned. for a double layer hammock with a bugnet and the blackcat tarp, its $105. Is this reasonable. For this price, is there any setup with double layer, ridgeline, bugnet, and tarp that i can buy at the store?

    Do you know if the fabric at Joann's is silnylon or just ripstop?

    i can't find ANY Silnylon in town. What I have found is that Joann's does not sell silnylon in their stores or online.

    It seems to only be ripstop.

    You're gonna have to ask them. Their site doesn't say much other than this:

    * Machine Wash Warm, No Chlorine Bleach, Tumble Dry Medium, Cool Iron
    * 100% Nylon
    * 60'' Wide
    * Made in USA

    And I have not bought any from them. I have been waiting for the next coupon. When I saw it was $7 yd, I went elsewhere.

    I plan on finding out tomorrow when I go in/ I just hope they have some decent colors.

    I went into the store yesterday, i remember red and perhaps 3 other colors - i didn't ask if it was 1.1 or what.

    let me know what you find out tomorrow.

    btw, when you went elsewhere - where did you go?
