I downsized from twelve foot back to eleven when I moved to the cuben tarps (and all my hammocks are eleven foot). The extra length was not that valuable to me especially since I stayed with doors for both my HG Standard and Palace. I've toyed with getting yet another tarp without doors, but frankly the doors add so little to the equation that I can't see spending more money on a doorless tarp. I think it's just TAD (tarp acquisition disorder) trying to kick in.

The bulk.. I see this packing size a bit different. I don't see the cuben tarps as larger or bulkier. Rather, they compress less. You can ball up a silpoly tarp and squeeze it down or stuff it in and around other stuff, but the cuben is less malleable. It's a more rigid package and I don' think any picture will accurate represent this difference. Having said this.. I was pleasantly surprised with how small the cuben tarps pack one I had them in hand. The hoopla I read prior was just wasted band-width.
