    Ridgerunner Sun Shade

Was trying to take a Sunday morning snooze in the ol' Ridgerunner and the sun was in my eyes. I thought, "We just celebrated the 50th anniversary of putting a man on the Moon, certainly there's someway to block the sun without a tarp." (Because you know how hot it can get under a tarp in the sun!) I'm probably not the first to do something like this, but I couldn't remember any posts I'd seen with this idea so...
BTW it worked surprisingly good! Kept the sun out of my eyes and off my face.

First iteration, piece of blue CCF pad held onto bugnet by clothes pins. I kept the left side of the bugnet open for ventilation.

Then I thought, "NASA, they do shiny, I need to do shiny." Remembered I had some Reflectix in the garage and cut me a piece of that. With this I could actually feel a temperature reduction in the shade of it. Looks like a solar panel.

That'll work but a tarp works equally as well

    Solar oven?
Maybe bake a potato or something with the reflection off the Reflectix?

Drsolarmolar, I really like this idea.

Watching the Perseids, I don't want a tarp. Next morning, when I need to sleep in, is when this sun shade would be real handy. I wonder if my reflectix cozy will work for this.

I was thinking about when I didn’t want a tarp but still needed some shade. Plus it gets hot under a tarp in direct sunlight.

Tarp pitched to the side of the sun, if it isn't too overhead, wouldn't heat up. Or just pop your spindrift on there and you are good to go.
