I don't use a tether in the ridge runner (or any other hammock for that matter), I just stuff it either in the head end of the hammock or a saddle bag and retrieve it when I return.

Same here. Just toss it in the saddle bag and once you lay back down reach for the pillow.

Yeh, that’s usually what I do. Just trying to think outside the box of how I’ve always done it and is there a better way.

I took the tether off of my SLD Apex pillow because I kept getting hung up on it when I got in and out. FYI, SLD is now offering the Apex Pillow free with purchase of a Trail Lair netted hammock: https://simplylightdesigns.com/colle...cts/trail-lair

I made one especially for ridgerunner. I just need to add some very small D-rings in the head end corners of the hammock, to be able to use it also when the bugnet is on. It is just a sack where I stuff my down jacket or other piece of clothes, or inflatable pillow. Made of pertex quantum fabric, weights nothing.
