Any recommendations for us late comers as to which sites to book with a decent hammock spot in either Post Oak or Springfield? I should just need 1 spot for myself.

One option is to place your info on the sign in sheet and state you are looking for a site to share with someone who already has one booked.

I have not done a hammock estimate/site inventory of Post Oak but as I've driven through there, I've noticed that lots of the sites would work well. I know that's not specific enough to help.

Springfield has lots of sites that work well and in fact is where we used to have this event until we outgrew the space. There are a couple of sites to the interior of the loop that are a bit sketchy for hammocks. That said, any of the waterfront sites work well as do the perimeter sites backing into the woods.

Worst case scenario, you don't find someone to share with before you get out there, you book a site in Post Oak or Springfield and it doesn't work for hammocks but it does at least give you a spot to park. (There is a 2 vehicle max per site and while some sites may have room for more hammocks the parking could theoretically be maxed out.) Once you've staked your claim at the reserved site, come to our hospitality site in Cooks Ferry and I'll help you find a spot to hang with someone who has a site.

I just checked the available sites and as of right now are 3,5,11,12,13,15,16,18,19,20,21,24,29,30,31,32,35,3 6. Of those sites, the only one I would say to avoid at all costs would be 12 unless you have a stand. I think my first choices might be 13, 35, or 36.

Awesome thanks! I've booked site 13 and updated the Sign up document with the info. I can share with someone or if someone just needs a spot to park, I'll have an open spot as it'll just be me.

Now I need to start thinking about what to make for the pot luck. Really looking forward to this event, thanks for all that you do.

Excellent! I saw your info and have moved it up the spreadsheet in order of site number.

You'll like 13, I think. It as plenty of trees as I recall. There's another hammock hanger from our group in 14 and there's a short path from Springfield to Cooks Ferry that is right there as well. Glad you'll be able to join us.
