Late July in east TN it was too cold for me to sit and drink coffee on the front porch several mornings. I just spent the weekend at the PSH Swamp Butt and the temps were pleasant. Today's forecast on the Georgia coast of a 90 degree high is the same as in Turtletown. The days start cooler there however.

I can handle 90 degree weather...permitting humidity at <30% The heat index here in the southern mid atlantic adds another 10-15 degrees to what the actual high feels like and makes being outside most unpleasant!

Went on a trip this past weekend with days temps around 60F-70F and night temps down to 44F... Waking up to that cool air and a swift breeze, I picked up just a hint of that oh-so lovely smell of Fall's approach... You know the one, crisp and refreshing with a flood of melancholy and bittersweet sensations. It didn't last long as the warm air came back quickly, but for a moment, I felt the Summer air faintly giving in to the entropic battle of the seasons. I even got a little snow shower at the top of Bald Mountain, but that's to be expected at around 11.9k'!

It might not be close for most, but Fall and Winter will be here before we know it, just as it always is

And soon enough complaints about cold will start revving up.

The great thing is, I don't recall people complaining about that on HF. Many actually look forward to it. So I enjoy everyone's company here opposed to back home where people do complain. I think they must not have clothing, working heat in their car, or a place to live. Poor them.

I'm not fond of winter at all but I do refrain from complaining about it here for the most part . I know many here enjoy it thoroughly and I don't want to rain on anyone's winter.

Just saw a summary for this morning. 33° in Roscommon, MI this morning, real close to some hunting/camping spots I frequent. Good stuff!
