    until then.....

In SE TN we start seeing colder temps in late October.

When do you go back outiside for some cool nights of slumber?

I've been heading up north, to no relief, but it's been fun. But there's always a period of thick mosquitoes, usually when hiking out (~9am). Miserable.

My next trip will be September 13, which could easily be 50 or 90 for a high...so fingers crossed for cool. Or at least enough cool nights beforehand to knock down the bugs. Humidity is always on it's way out by then as well.

I live and primarily hang in NW GA. We donít actually have a winter, we just have a few really cold days sprinkled into the less hot than the middle of summer days. Iíve got a trip planned with my Cub Scout Pack in mid September, so hopefully itíll cool down a bit before then. The projected high today is 95, and the heat index will probably be 105.

We're already into a bit cooler & drier temps in northern New England. Valley highs in the 70's, lows in the 50's, cooler in the mountains. 30's and 40's aren't far off. Love it!

VT sounds like the place to go until it cools down in the south. We've got at least another 2.5 months of summer temps and then the backpacking can begin. I'm day hiking today as it's supposed to be on of the hottest days of the year so let the sauna begin.

Here in the south of the UK it rarely goes above 80 (and never over 90) in the summer and doesnít drop much below 30 in the winter. Weíre lucky enough to hammock all year round.

IN gets about two weeks of decent weather in the Spring and again in the Fall. Other than that, you have to learn to like Winters that remind you of MN and/or Summers that resemble GA. I'm fat, so I like the cold weather, personally. That usually starts showing up around the end of September. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate this flat, atmospherically schizophrenic state?

Yeah Indiana is pretty nasty nov-march. If you like gray skies, little snow (other than near lake MI), brown grass and cold temps, we have what you need.
