ISO overnight hanging suggestions in NC

More specifically, I'm looking for a good overnight camping hang not too far in on any trail or, maybe just a good obliging campground, near Pembroke, NC. Anywhere reasonably near there or north of there, on route from Pembroke to Delaware.

I’ve hung on the Lumber River SP near Boardman and it was nice. Not in this heat though.

Yup. Thanks. Looks like a good-n-buggy spot too. The heat is good for them, bad for me.
I guess it's going to be hot. Dry would be good.

If it's not too late to mention, Bladen lakes State Forest is a little bit to your East. I think they will permit for primitive camping, not sure if it's dispersed or designated sites.

    [UPDATE]:
    Bladen Lakes State Forest, Elizabethtown
    (Locator Map). http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en...5&om=1&iwloc=A
    – Camp Chamblee. 40 acres open to primitive camping; undesignated sites, vault toilet, water. Permit required. (910) 588-4964.

    [UPDATE #2]:
Apparently Camp Chamblee is hard to find so somebody set up these directions:

Raven Rock State Park is great. Your also not to far from Uwharri.
I live in Bladen County and Jones Lake (In Bladen Lakes State Forest) wouldn't be a bad choice.
There is a place called Harmony Hall Plantation Village in White Oak that offers primitive camping. Our scout troop camps/hangs there quite often. [email protected]
Lake Waccamaw State Park is right down 74/76 and would be pretty much a straight shot for you.

After reading your post again. Raven Rock might be a good choice if you are looking North.
