    I think you would be better served to abandon the idea and get Warbonnet buckles,Dutch buckles,or Dutch's Beetle Buckles and use 7/64 amsteel like everyone else.I tried the descender rings for a while but the fore mentioned items are lighter,more reliable,and less hassle;hence they sit unused on the shelf in my basement now.

    You're going to rip that cabinet knob straight off. That door is good to 25lbs max. Maple might get you a couple pounds but not much.

    I think in order for such a setup to work, you should have an amsteel guyline running from the doorknob to a rafter in your ceiling, and another one(or two) inside the cabinet, running from the knob to the stud(s) in your wall. But I still don't think it's a good idea to attempt the cabinet hang.
