1.0 vs 1.6 hex

I'm 190lbs 6'0 and have a 1.0 hex but will be ordering a second hammock. Considering the 1.6 as I have a bit of lower back pain and curious how the 1.6 might fare - also it has a higher weight limit and I assume is a bit more durable.

Any thoughts on the 2 options?

I'm 5'11" and 165 lbs., but I won't go near 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2 hammocks. I experimented with them, but found that they weren't very durable (I'd call them disposable).

I have a couple of Dutch PolyD 1.4 hammocks (no longer made). They have held up very well, and I have a friend who weighs 230 lbs. who has also been using the PolyD 1.4 hammocks for years with no issue. Nowadays, I just use 1.6 Hexon hammocks.

It depends on why you're getting back pain. I don't have a bad back and usually don't have any issues, but I do get back pain when trying to sleep in a stretchy hammock. In a single layer hammock, I usually need 70D fabrics. Most 40D fabrics give me back pain after a couple of hours, and I have yet to find one that is as comfortable as a 70D fabric.

Between Hexon 1.0 (20D) and Hexon 1.6 (40D) I would pick the 1.6. But you might want to consider the Hexon 1.7 (70D). It's only a tiny bit heavier than the Hexon 1.6, but provides a lot more support.
