How do I remove the pole tips?

I purchased Dutch's internal 11 ft poles. Did a test set up at work with my Chill Gorilla Fortress, and I feel that I'd like to remove one section of pole. How do I get the tip off of these. I have a call into Dutch, but figured I'd seek an answer here while I wait.

    TIA

The way I do it is I use a vise grip with a slide hammer on it.

I also use visegrips, with a small hammer to tap them. Also have regular vise with soft rubber "inserts" or "covers" to grip pole segments. I find it doesn't take much. Some twisting helps.
