Bummer but if it doesn't turn out you can always contact Brandon and ask if they can repair it for you since it's so new. This is why everyone needs two hammocks

Nah, it was user error. I made a rookie mistake when I tried testing out my Tensa solo stands and ended up on the ground. I suspect that's when the hole got torn. I'll just patch it up.

Think of it as a brand new car that got its first door ding in the supermarket parking lot.

Now you can relax and not worry about it any more, and on top of that you got some baddazz trail cred lol Just make up some story about being attacked by a giant pileated woodpecker.

I agree with cmoukler, wear and tare and repair on your gear shows that you don't sit at home on your butt and just talk about your stuff and the trips you want to take. Let your hammock sport that band-aid with pride.

I ordered the solos by themselves, figuring I could simply attach the carabiners on my hammock to a loop of amsteel. I found out the hard way that a loop tied together with a simple square knot is not good for holding human-sized loads, so I ended up with about 3 seconds of hang time, which quickly turned to ground time.

In the end I looked up a tutorial on how to make continuous loops. Those worked much better.

By tearing a hole in it, you now have fewer holes in your bug net than you did before.

    Absurdly true, but not useful...

Well, shoot. I tore a hole in my bug net.

happened to me too. I used Scotch tape and that held for a surprisingly long time.

Before you go and repair the thing I would suggest setting up on a particularly buggy night and see if the mosquitoes can find the hole. They probably can but we simply can't know without someone trying it and I am more than willing to let you be the guinea pig.
