UP top quilts at Cedar Ridge

Cedar Ridge Outdoors just put their UP TQs on sale. I know a few people were interested.

I had a chance to play with an UP TQ, and it’s pretty amazing stuff. Lofts fantastic. I’d have assumed it was a lower fill power down if I’d didn’t know better.

YAY!! I emailed them a couple weeks ago asking about an UP version of their TQs, and they told me they were working on it! glad to see they are out. gives those of us with down allergies another option.

That's a new one for me. Looks like a good price too. What is UP though, pray tell? Googling abbreviations is hard...

Maybe UP stands for U.P. like in Michigan

You mean it's their own name for the material? Then what is it really?

UP is a performance-oriented technical insulation that is lightweight, compressible and completely water resistant. UP has maximum warmth and can be used in large baffles in places where consistent dampness and compression can potentially be damaging to down.

I suspect ots the same as loft tek from outdoor vitals. They were released about the same time and the photos look very similar.
I have a coat in the stuff from odv. If it's the same stuff, it's not bad. Feels 700ish fill power. Up is advertised as 650 I think.

Doesn't Dutch sell this insulation, or products made with it?
