    Timberline Trail 8/26/19 - 8/28/19

I just got back. Moved up a week because rain all next week forecast. I went CCW too. You’re an absolute beast to have gone from Newton Creek to past Sandy in a day, maybe 25 miles with >5000’ elevation gain i reckon.

I did 3.25 days. Wanted 4, but didn’t hit trail until 4pm Wednesday. Made it only just past the White River that day, feeling very off from the circumstances of my late departure. Thursday near the shelter before Cloud Cap; Friday to the ridge after Cairn Basin, and the final 15mi today.

I’m wiped. Quarter-size blister to lance in the morning between areas I didn’t tape, ouch.

Yeah, my second day was a little long. Felt good up until about mile 20. Probably should have stopped at the nearest campground and stayed for the night. Crossing the Muddy Fork and Sandy late in the afternoon with worn out legs was not a good idea. Had to hike upriver ~1/4 mile on both of them just to find a suitable crossing. Next time I'll take 4 days or even 5 and do some day hikes on some of the side trails.
