New and improved Whoopi sling - 1/2 the close to tree distance

    Hi forum members -

A few months ago I switched from buckles to Whoopie’s and like the flexibility of adjustment.

However, one issue I ran into is I had a hard time with closer hang distances. Sometimes I could just remove the whoopies but sometimes that wasn’t long enough but with the whoopies it was too long.

I’ve gotten some good soft shackles from Jeff Meyers at Meyers Tech so I asked him for a UCR to get a bit shorter hang.

He sent me the UCR but also included a set of his new shorter Whoopie 2.0 suspension.

Tried them out tonight and they are perfect for me! I had a set of reflective lines and managed to snap one of them in the first few months. These are more robust and get TWICE as close to the tree. Saves me 2’ of hang distance for close hangs but still plenty of distance for wider spacing.

Check em out if your looking for a new set of whoopies or just need to get more options for closer hangs.

    Old whoopies closest = 23”
    Meyers 2.0 Whoopies closest = 11”

Not bad look like the main differences are a 6" bury (little short for heavier folks), and a 1/2 attach loop vs. the usual 2" to 4" loop that most guides default to. Also, he has no gap between the bury and the end loop. That is a good practice for shorter whoopies.

Glad you are happy with them

I’m 250 and was fine on my first hang. My last
Set of whoopies had one snap but these seem more robust.

Yes the end opening is about a half inch but that actually works better for me to attach directly to my evo continuous loops with a button knot.

The end of the line the berry feeds through widens out so it can’t get sucked through.
I added some thin Prussic knots on the end to make it easier to pull it loose if I tighten it up too close.

Agreed that it is not exactly the same
as other Whoopie designs but that is what I like
    about them.

    Stronger, closer, better fit.

Forgot to mention that there is a plastic line lock behind the berry so it can’t slip from being a bit shorter.

Tested it with it in place and pulled away and it definitely works.

These seem to be exactly what I’m looking for. Looks like Jeff will be getting a message from me soon.

    Got any other photos?

I wrote him via Facebook. MyersTech Hammock Lab. He responded ‘no problem’ and gave me color choices.

Got mine today. These are perfect and, in actuality, no shorter on the long side than my other whoopies - just a much shorter minimum distance.

Looking at this picture I'm wondering something. On that 23" whoopie, why is the fixed eye 10" away from the bury? It seems you could have a 10" bury and still have a whoppie with a short length of 14"-16" if you eliminate the almost 10" of length between the bury and fixed eye.

I'm looking at the orange 23" whoopie in the picture above...
