    Amsteel?

Where does everyone buy amsteel and what type should I use (I am 130 lbs but a young teen so I have a lot of time to grow and would like these to last) for whoopie? (If they sell in bulk it would be great)

Amsteel is a brand name for various cordage made by Samson from Dyneema, an UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) fiber. Spectra is pretty much the same as Dyneema and that fiber is also used in making cordage. Samson's smallest Dyneema cordage is sold as Lash-It and Zing-It. The bigger stuff is called Amsteel. Plenty of companies produce cordage using this material.

The beauty of these ropes/cords is the high strength to weight ratio and virtually no stretching. Smaller diameter cords (1/8" and less) are easily spliced and lend themselves wonderfully to making suspension, tie-outs, etc. for hammocking.

7/64" is pretty commonly used for suspension components like Whoopies.

    Hope this helps.

A good source for spools is https://www.lfsmarineoutdoor.com/Sam...TEEL-BLUE-Rope

But if you just want 100-200 feet, I have some green and red 7/64 amsteel I would be willing to cut off spools I already have. PM me if interested.
