Rook and I will have our F150 4 door. We can always meet you at the end on sunday and shuttle atleast 3 other people back to the beginning. I'm sure we will all figure it out. Even if we do multiple trips back to the 260TH

I just hope the weather is kind to us.

Here is the Topo map of the hiking route along the Highline trail, as well as the See canyon camp site listed in an earlier post with the gps coordinates. I can also post the .gpx file if somebody wants it.

    Update:
It sounds like most (if not all) attendees have decided to base camp at Christopher creek both Friday and Saturday night. This will more or less be car camping so feel free to bring any luxury items and good food! On Saturday and Sunday we can arrange some day hikes for those interested. It should be cold so bring some warm cloths and sleep gear http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...2=-111.016&e=0

Sarae and I will be up there Friday evening around 6:30 and we have arranged to have dinner with Scott and Skitt at the La Sierra (mexican) place. Its on the 87 and Forest, up by that Swiss looking strip mall. Consider this an invitation to join us, one and all.

Saturday our plans are to do the Horton Creek/Derrick trail loop, after breakfast, pro'lly around 9am. You guys should join us! We will be going in the opposite of this trip description that is to say, counter-clockwise. After we do the Horton/Derrick loop, I'm going to fish the Tonto creek area just around the corner near the Babe Haught t/h.

    Excited!

ok, we're packed. Got s'mores to share and such. A bit of extra steak and zuchini/squash for sat. Also made Chocolate Banana chip bread. I hope you guys are hungry. I will not be offended if you decline, but It sure does look good. YUM!

I look forward to meeting you all. Rook/Scott says it will be 24 degrees friday night. We'll see! brrrrrr....

Nobody stated they wanted to use the clark set up, so I may just sleep in it one of those nights. It will be nice to test it out to those temps.

We do not plan to hike with Te-wa. We are going to fart around camp (not literally) and finally make some time to geocache hunt.

I also want to play with my bakepacker. SWEET!

Hopefully you'll find us.....hee hee hee.... Orange is one of my favorite colors.

Wow, 24 degrees now Friday night and 10% chance of rain. We'll need coolers to keep the beer warm. This will be a good test for everyone's bottom side insulation. I'm definitely packing the MW4 now. Hey Skittles, I'll be happy to partake of some of your food. It'll be nice to meet you. I had a great time with your hubby last weekend in the Supes.

For hiking my current plan is to hike those two sections of the Highline trail between 260 trailhead and Tonto fishery as day hikes. I'm planning to hike the entire ~51 mile Highline on a backpacking trip at some point this summer and want to take the opportunity to do some reconnoitering. I'll probably do the longer ~10mi section from Tonto to See Canyon on Saturday, assuming we get a shuttle worked out and hangover conditions are not too bad .

Scott, if it's not a Te-wa Winter Coat I would definitely bring a pad along to supplement just in case. Let me know if you need one, I have some I can bring along.

you may be pushing a standard te-wa below 25°
one thing to consider, since you are car camping the menu is better (usually) and you will be able to ingest vast amounts of fat, you'll keep that furnace burning all night. combine this with being well hydrated, and the te-wa will work fine at these expected temps.
    add a 20x30 ccf @ 1/4" thick and you're golden.
im still planning on the derrick/horton trail loop and all are welcome.
