Dog Hammock / gear Hammock material question

I have a new lab puppy about 6 month old now. we have done a couple cabin camping trips and a couple tent camping trips. So far, so good. Now i want to train her for a hammock, but i was now sure on what material to use for her hammock - I was thinking a 1.6 material, but should i go heavier to assure her nails won't do any damage? Maybe a better question is: how do others Hammock camp with a dog (Training Tips?) In the long run, I expect her to get to be about 60-65 Lbs - Medium to large size dog. We do all our testing in the back yard before we hit the field / parks / trials. (I already know my 1.0 Robix did not hold up to both of us on the hammock ) That is now stuff sack material. Any advise or pointers are appreciated. I was thinking a 5-6 foot Dog Hammock / Gear Hammock. Thoughts?
    Thanks

Call Randy or Deanna at DreamHammock or Kyle at Ripstop By the Roll. They have something that would fit the job. I use Hex 70 2.2 oz ripstop on my hammock in a double layer, and it has been able to hold myself and my 45 lb dog. New materials may now be available. Also try and see what Dutchware Gear may be able to offer.

Tyroler has it. I use Hex 70 2.2 single layer with my lab. 400 lbs total. No issues and the Hex 70 wears like iron.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

    Congrats on your pup!
I agree that you must get your pup a personal hammock, as claws are the pure weapon of nylon destruction: the material is stretched so tight with your weight that it don't take a whole lot to tear it. As for materials, marine canvas is pretty tough and water resistant. Also, think parachute material.
