I’m late to party. Is amsteel locking similar to Dutch’s speed hooks and or loop aliens? Or is it a different animal?
If nothing else—those turtles look good.
If they can hold without slipping or jamming or damaging amsteel, then they are a winner!

I got a couple of turtles to play with on my Ridgerunner. Only played around on my inside hang but think they will be fun.
I’d like an XL version like the Loop Alien, easier to work with for me, things are a bit tight.

Sorry for the radio silence the last week. I just got back from a pretty epic trip to Pictured Rocks.

The Turtle Ties are definitely different than the speed hooks. Instead of pinching the rope in one concentrated location (causing rapid wear) the Turtles spread the load over many points of contact (across the shoulders, behind the neck, etc) distributing the wear more evenly. They are also mid-line attachable so you don't need to pull the whole rope through the body, or even have access to the end.

Any feedback from those that have been using their Turtle Ties?
Thinking about getting a pair to try out.

How do you find making adjustments?
Any concerns so far with wear on the Amsteel?
Do you have a 3-4’ hugger strap then Amsteel?

The adjustment is as easy as with Speed Hooks or Loop Aliens. With some experience you can adjust the suspension by the millimetre.
I have no concerns with wear. The rope bending diameter is big enough, there are many compression points, there are no sharp edges and no slipping.
Yes, I use the Turtle Ties with Amsteel tied to a webbing tree hugger. Next weekend I plan to experiment with venom straps instead of Amsteel, just out of curiosity.

for me the adjustments isn't as easy as cinch buckles (but a lot lighter) but easier than whoopies. I don't have any concerns either with wear. I have a set of 5ft hugger set and also a 4ft hugger set
