    Hello from Boston

    Hi everyone!

I’m a backpacking and hammocking mom of two boys, one of whom also likes to go out, and carries all of his gear even, at least towards the beginning of the trip. His pack magically gets lighter as he tires. I’ve temporarily lost the other one to early teenage-hood but his younger brother is still delightful — loves to hit the trail and sleeps in a hammock every chance he gets. I started with a borrowed Eno, bought a Kammok and eventually ended up at Warbonnet after I figured out it was only a name. When I got off the ground I never slept better in my life. So well that I ditched my bed and hang full time. I got so much good info from the forums that I felt obligated to join, so here I am! Plus, 12 yards of Hexon, a spool of Tera 80, 100' of Amsteel and other bits just arrived today. I would say be warned about an onslaught of questions, except the forums are such an incredible and exhaustive resource that I expect to have three hammocks done this weekend, just in time for Columbus Day!

Hi Kjune!!!! Instead of sewing hammocks this weekend, come up to our Fall group hang in Goshen MA just a mere 2 hours from you in lovely western Massachusetts Plenty of fun things to do and very very friendly to new folks. If you can't swing it (ha ha) even for a day trip, then NEXT WEEKEND there is a really wonderful hang not far from Boston in southern New Hampshire called the Great Pumpkin Hang--this is my favorite hang as it is on private property that abuts Mount Cardigan and there are tons of trails to hike, waterfalls nearby and we camp along a beautiful stream with multiple cascades in the quiet woods. Please visit the forums and check out all the fun doings. (Northeast section) I so hope to meet you and your boys (or at least the youngest). We are kid friendly! Feel free to PM me on the forums with questions. Getting to a hang is important when just starting out to see all the different set ups and options available to you!

Hope to make a hang this fall. DAR looks great; we were just out in that general direction at Tully and spent a night at Royalston Falls. The kids had designated this weekend a chill weekend some weeks ago unfortunately. To be fair September was pretty hectic. You all lucked out with the great weather this weekend!
