    PA > Hickory Creek Wilderness 10/19 - 10/20

Thinking of doing an overnight on the HCWT Loop 10/19 to 10/20, if anyone is interested.

I've heard that the farthest end of the loop is hard to follow, I don't know for sure. GPS and Compass are recommended.

When I did the trail 2 years ago ( clockwise where the loop turns from the connector trail) there was a bunch of downed trees about a mile towards the end of the loop. It made finding the already hard to follow trail more difficult. The trail isn't blazed, and with leaves falling now, the trail will be covered and not trampled on enough to follow easily. Bring something to guide you along. On a side note, Ill be doing the NCT from Kettleville to Henry Mills that weekend. Looks to be colorful that weekend.

I was on the HCWT a few months ago and the trail was clear and very well blazed, but we didn't make it all the way around and I've heard the blazes get harder to find at the furthest back in (although I was told this by a girl that could get lost in her own bathroom

I was just talking to the wife about starting at Henry Mill to Forest Road 449 (near where I hunt), simple overnight trip. Not sure what I'm really gonna do at this point.
