Hi everyone! I live up along the southern shore of Lake Ontario and do most of my camping here and down around the Finger Lakes. Beautiful country, but it gets cold and windy. I've been an occasional hammock camper for about 10 years when I snagged myself a nice deal on a used Clark NX-250 Jungle Hammock (sad that they are out of business, I really like the improvments they made to the 270 and would have liked trading up at some point). I just ordered a OneTigris double UQ to make the colder hangs a bit more comfortable, will be trying it out next weekend.
I'm looking to replace the stiff synthetic ropes at the gathered ends of my hammock, saw pictures of someone that used looped hammock straps that way. Anybody here ever go that route?
Attached is a pic of my kit from an orienteering trip to Highland Forest south of Syracuse with the Boy Scouts a few years ago. Got down to mid-twenties at night, low forties (fahrenheit) in the day.
Looking forward to chatting more. Thanks for having me.
