4 season tarp for Amok Dramur

Does anyone know if a Warbonnet Superfly, or any similar tarp with doors, will fit an Amok Dramur. Also, as fairly new to this, do the width specs on tarps cover the ground distance between sides or is it the side panel length?

Yup. The Superfly works. Shug has a video. I wouldn't really consider it a true 4-season tarp, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG-pg-6en1E

Here is his video about Winter tarps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGJxi5j6rGU

And, one by another resident authority on the subject, Derek Hansen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIo0JixYjxs

I believe the more seasoned Amok folks here frequently recommend the Winter Haven by Simply Light Designs (Jared makes a version especially for an Amok) for true 4-season tarp coverage. I think the Winter Dream by UGQ may also work with an Amok. You might try looking in the "Other Vendors and Services" section or do a search (top right, just under the HF banner) for Amok specific threads. Getting a beefier pad (ExPed DownMat 9), wearing a heavier base layer to bed, or getting a bag/top quilt with higher R value might be another option to work with your existing tarp. None of those options are exactly "cheap" though. Good luck!

Shug’s video uses a superfly tarp with a center pole mod (looks like that to me). He then puts a trekking pole in the grommet.

I’m not sure you can do that with a non modified superfly tarp ?

Center pole mod can easily accomplished just with beastie dees and a pole. Cordage to keep it steady seems optional. Havent needed it with mine

Thanks Shug for the quick reply (in stereo) and all that you do to educate the hammock camping community. I've enjoyed the hours I've spent watching your videos, not sure how I missed this one. I did see another video where you crafted sudo doors out of the Borg tarp. Which of the two setups would you prefer for late fall camping. Is the superfly worth the extra expenditure? Thanks, again.

You can set the Borg up to create a little bit of a door by pulling in the corner guylines.
The Superfly gives you way better doors.
But the sides of the actual Draumr provides so protection as well.
