I gave this subject a great deal of consideration and it really took a lot of thought. After looking at packing lists, weighing gear and packing/repacking my pack a few times, I decided that the best way to save weight for me is to get anyone hiking with me to carry a piece or 2 of my gear for me. Groupe hikes should leave me with a very light pack, indeed.

I bought the gregory baltoro 70 this winter on sale knowing I would not get to test it out till this spring. Ive been hikeing with it filled with 5 days of food and gear for the past week on day hikes and it just dosent ride right. It really bulky, to many straps. So I just ordered the ULA catalyst in hopes of a better ride and comfyer fit. Im xited.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Works for me, every time. Ask my hiking companion.
