Sewing Machine Suggestions?

I love older cast iron machines so i spent a little bit of time researching before i ended up with this beautiful Necchi BU Nova. It does a strait stitch and zig-zag with adjustable needle position and stitch length. It seems to do them very well. I wasn't in a hurry so I just posted a want to buy ad on craigslist and within a week had someone call me with a machine they wanted to sell /shrug.

Cost me 95 dollars and it came with the original manual and all of the feet. If you can find one of these older machines in good shape i would definitely recommend it

Now I'm just trying to find a nice old singer treadle table to put it in so i can change it back and forth between foot power and electrical and take it out of this old broken plastic case.

I just picked up a Singer model 514, from the local singer store in Edmonton. It has two "plastic" gears, but is well serviced, and they gaave me a warranty that includes the replacement of the one non replaced gear for $40 if it needs it within one year. It sews like a dream, and I have had no problem sewing through three layers of 1" seatbelt material. The satin stitch is very handy for reinforcing / bar stitching. I am pretty happy for a small expenditure of $79.99 cdn

i recently found this dressmaker 7000 for 4.00 at goodwill.this thing is a tank twice as heavy as my pfaff 1215.all medal everything.it came in a carrying case,had a manual,3 bobbins a few feet and misc.and a pack of 30 fancystich gears.and foot swich/cord.
after threading it up i found it did not feed.a piece in the bottom feed mechanisim was cracked.useing several coats of jb weld,some sheet metal and wire i cobbled it back to working order.it runs ok now.i am still working the kinks out.needs a profesional tuning.any one know a good place to find parts?

this pfaff my mom gave me.she just happened to have it laying around as a spare i guess.it works great.not to good for thick stuff though.i found the folding sewing table it is on also at goodwill for 3.00
