Cut and hem if you intend for this to be the permanent configuration.
You can also anchor the loose flap corners to the trees with separate guy lines, similar to what Kitsap Cowboy did with his Glasgow KISS asym tarp. In this photo I staked the corner guy line to the ground, but later modified it by tying to the tree, which worked just fine.

You can button the flap to the other side, forming a mini-beak. Works decent in windy conditions.
