The campsite is south of the pickle creek and the first white oak trail connector along the whispering pines trail
Oh! I was looking at the large photo in your post. Didn’t realize the small thumbnail photo was different from the large photo! Thanks!

    Got it. Thanks Skygzr!

Hi everyone, I'll be at the whispering pine trailhead at 10:30 am on Saturday.

If you download the image skygzr uploaded and look at it on your computer the red star will be there. Although it doesn't show an established campsite, trust me when I say that there's one there. It's long been "established", it's just not on the map. I've also uploaded a map, ignore the red arrow, that was there from Twentybelow pointing out a marked campsite.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone!

I haven't been to a forum hang in a few years, going to try and make this one. I'll plan on meeting you at the trailhead Saturday morning!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I just want to clarify the plans. We are camping at the walk in sites Friday and starting at the whispering pines trail head Saturday morning at 10:30. Is this correct? I will be bringing jalapeno poppers.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it now. I was going to be there early Friday morning to snag the sites and firewood but I can't make it either day. Hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience, and hope you all have a great trip. Maybe next time.

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it. No worries, hopefully we'll see you on the next one!

I plan to arrive around 3pm Friday rain or shine. The latest forecast for Farmington says that showers should be tapering off Friday afternoon and then partly cloudy overnight with temps dropping from the low 40's Friday afternoon to around 30F by daybreak Saturday. I've never been to this park, but based on previous discussion in this thread there is a car-camping area somewhere around the red arrow in the updated map below where we can meet on Friday, then move our vehicles Saturday morning to the Whispering Pines TH parking lot before heading to the established camp near the red star for the second night. In addition to the chili and cornbread, I will also be bringing some dry firewood. Dublinlin will also be bringing some food, so I think we have the first night's dinner covered for all who can make it on Friday.

I really wish I would have seen this thread months ago. I’ve been interested in finding a Missouri group hang. If I can, I’ll try to make it down Saturday morning and meet everyone. If not, I hope everyone has a great time and I’ll look forward to next year.
