    Phantom cold feet !!

I know as I've go older my feet get cold much more often. (I'm 66 now)
Could not have imagined it a few years ago but there it is.
Trouble is now when I get in my hammock I'm saying to myself 'are my feet cold' when sometimes there ok!!
Kind of not really sure. , sounds stupid but it happens.
I've watched Shugs great vids on the subject and about getting in warm, but I wonder if I need down booties or something.
Every other part of me is usually warm. I'm taking of going down to 1deg C or a tad less occasionally.
    Any ideas ?
    hypnotherapy perhaps ha ha.

How's your blood sugar? Mine was off a few years ago and my feet were always cold. The issue has been corrected and my feet stay warmer now.

    Phantom or real?

Doesn't matter once your brain thinks your feet are cold. Never mentally convinced myself with wishful thinking enough to warm my feet once cold is perceived.

You are not alone. 66 here as well. Down booties, and over insulated footbox have helped with my cold foot issues.

Good luck. Cold feet can ruin a good night for sure.
I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.

About a year ago I bought a pair of Western mountaineering standard down booties. I absolutely love them. I wear them around the house all winter and. when the temperature gets down around freezing I wear them in my hammock quilt. Jumping Jack's also do wonders.

Thanks for the replies guys, just saw a deal on some Exped down socs/booties and ordered a pair not so cheap but warm feet are more important than money right? If this does not work I'm emigrating.

    And remember
If you go to bed with cold.feet you will still be cold.
Dry warm feet in some nice dry loose wool socks, inside some nice fluffy down booties, tucked inside a even better down Stuffed foot box = happy feet

I totally thought you started this thread and referenced yourself in the 3rd person.

To the OP. wearing that day's socks to bed can make your feet cold due to any dampness or perspiration on them. From scouts I was always taught to put on a clean dry pair of sleeping socks to stay warm. Thus, when I back pack I have one pair of wool socks that I only sleep in.

There's good advice in this thread- another thing that helps is a hot water bottle. Put it under foot area of the quilt/bag a while before you get in.
