    FS - Cheap Starter Hammock

It's a Grand Trunk Ultralight Travel Hammock I modified/experimented with. I removed the line thru the end hems, whipped the ends (with Zip Ties) to raise the sides like a Speer Hammock. Re-tied the original lines to the whipped ends and added a Dyneema ridgeline and a set of tree huggers. Final length is 8 feet, suitable for a hanger up to 6 foot tall. Total weight 15 ounces. In excellent condition, never hung outside.
    $25 plus shipping

    PM if interested,

    Steve

Interested - so what was this to begin with, a toy to play around with, never really use? What are you, like that boy in the movie Toy Story always messin' with his toys in a sadistic manner? Just kidding, I bought one of your modified toys one time and was a good purchase. I am wondering why it was never used if all that modifying went into it. So, it comes with tree straps, too?

Just love to play with gear! It was a cheap way to try a Speer type again and compare it to the WBBB and HH hammocks. I've settled (?) on my HH UL Explorer now and need to simplify. To dang many choices to make when packing for a trip!

And it comes with tree straps. They were made from a cut down 12' strap in my odds and ends box. One end of each is the original loop, the other end I sewed with a stitching tool. Not pretty but held my weight well.

    Cheers,
