As usual, this piece of Amok gear has great attention to detail. The included repair kit comes with a patch of the heavier charcoal gray bottom material as well as the lighter red top material. There's a little sleeve on the inside of the stuff sack that the repair kit fits into. The fact that it comes with a repair kit at all is appreciated but these thoughtful extra touches are even better. Nice job, guys.

I was saving up for the new camo Draumr XL. I already have a Draumr XL in the red color that I love. But it looks like Im going to purchase this new pad instead and get the new camo design later.

Does anyone have updated info about using other LW pads in the XL? I’ve being doing research and can’t find too much. I’m 6’2” and won’t need the full length of the hammock, but wonder if not filling the pad sleeve effects comfort and stability. I have a Big Agnes LW pad (tubes run the right way) already. Thanks!
But for the grace of God, there, I go...

I have used my Exped downmat 9 in my XL. It worked great. I'm 6'.
Never even noticed the little loose bit on head and foot end.

This year will be the first time i use either UQ or pad in my hammock. I've been section hiking the Vt Long Trail in July-Aug, so i never considered bottom insulation until this past year when we went in Sept and it got COLD a couple nights. Anyway, i have an REI stratus (R value of 2.9) pad - do you think i need to also add an UQ for say 30 degree nights? Thanks for the help and btw your vids are a great resource - thanks for taking the time!

The Amok is really not made to take a UQ. Reckon you could try to rig something up. Stratus at 2.9 R Val is rated about 28.
I assume you are talking about using it in Amok...correct?

If you can stay on the pad, I think you will find that pad warm into the low 40s, or maybe a bit lower down into the 30s, though people vary quite a bit.

Hey Shug, do you have a video or picture of the Downmat in the XL Draumr?

Based on that experience, I'd expect this new pad to work for me down to roundabout 0 but time will tell. I haven't had a chance to sleep out in a while, and we haven't had temps that cold in a while either. Mild winter.
Would you say that you are a regular or cold/warm sleeper? I'm trying to get a gauge on whether I'll be cold in a Draumr, as I have not had good experiences with staying warm on a pad (on the ground).
