I have some MARPAT Woodland on order now, I'm planning on using it to attempt my first DIY hammock with.
I lucked out in WalMart one day and found it. They didn't have a whole lot of it, maybe 6-8 yards, so I got all of it. It's uncoated 1.1 so it's uses are a little limited, but great for accent.

BTW, the fabric selection in WalMart lately has been really poor. I did find some netting that looks real promising the other day. I need to go back and see if it's still there. The had some in black and dark green. I think the holes are small enough to qualify for NoSeeUms but it is a little stiffer than I'd like and only about 45" wide. Might be great for Tarp Snakeskins.

PS. Go Gators! I was telling a friend of mine, this is the best preseason EVER. No expectations! You know why? Because we are NATIONAL CHAMPS.

Nice hammock! Gators? Not so much. Was it Florida last year? I thought it was Texas... oh well, I can't keep up.

I assume you mean the Canes? If so, winning a few championships keep them at bay!

I am planning a section hike of the Florida Trail as we speak. Proximity is key. I can only get to the A.T. once, maybe twice a year, so this serves as a nice alternative. The only problem is the limitation of the weather (hot), etc...

Let me know if you need/want some company on the Florida Trail. I've been using it as a training ground for my AT thru and would be happy to have company. I'm just a couple hours north of you. Wish I had some good advice for the weather.

While doing some of the A.T. I noticed that hammock camp options were every where. What are the options on the Florida trail (hammock wise)? Just the bugs alone make me skeptical?
