I've started making my first hammock after heaps of research! I've decided to make a ZHammock with a structural ridgeline for the bug netting, I will also make a hammock sock and use whoopie slings and obviously tree huggers.
I've sewn my material together for the hammock and am just doing the whipping now. Ive decided to try Just Jeff's "W" Whipping but I'm a bit unsure on the final step.. It says to pull the long edges out but I'm unsure if he is suggesting you pull out just the outside edges or also the center line. Does anyone know how to do this step?? I'm thinking that if I pull the center line that it will be as high as the sides and potentially problematic, but if I dont does it still create the pockets either side?
Also, does my set up sound good for a first timer? I'm using a lightweight 60" wide parachute ripstop which I'm pretty sure is 1.1oz and will use a 1.9 coated ripstop for the sock and the tarp (which I will make further down the track)
Thanks!
