ViDEO: Comparing Tarp Fabrics and Sizes in Stuff Sacks

Here we take a peek at some Silnylon, Silpoly and Dyneema Fiber (cuben fiber) tarps stuffed in the stuff sacks to see the sizes. Also weigh them and hang a couple to compare.
And yes, I do say Dyneema cuben fiber several times. I know it is actually dyneema composite fabric but that sounds so formal and many folks still remember calling it cuben fiber. .....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyneema_Composite_Fabric
Dyneema composite fabric sound so formal.

    Take care and hunker down!

Haha, I'm trying to get "DCF" some traction. "Da Cuben Fiber" if you must. Or even Fibre for those trying to be fancy...people with fake European license places on the front of their Audi to feel cool.

Really useful video. Pack volume is often more of a consideration for me than weight. I've never done the whole super light bit, mainly because I choose not to shell out an extra 30% for slightly less weight.

Plus more weight = free phys right?

I love when I lift a full pack and put it on my back and it feels right! Nice to cut some ounces. Usually the weight still seems to be food, fuel and water.

I feel like a teenager put on restriction for a bad report card or getting busted for some hijinks. Painting and playing my mandolin a lot.

I know with silnylon, it’s a good idea to use shockcords on the tie outs. What about with silpoly or DCF?

I made a bunch of line-tensioning guylines and often use them. But my newest DCF I have not yet but more than likely will.
Smaller trees seem to sag a wee bit when one gets in the hammock and there is sometimes some tarp loosening. So I just like 'em.
