Who got a new HH backpacker Ultralight a-sym?

    I did, I did.

Someone advertised one on the WB for 90 bucks. I snatched it up and just checked my porch. The package was waiting. I get to pull the snakeskins back tomorrow and check her out! At work.

I have to go to bed now. boo.

Congrats. It is a very comfortable hammock for sure.

The only thing I would suggest is ditching the stock Spectra and tree huggers and use webbing to tie to trees. Much easier.

That's what I plan. I mean I am not up on my physics but, I assume it takes much common sense to be up on it. So with this I am following the crowd. The Spectra does seem a bit...wimpy.

The Spectra is plenty strong enough. Don't let the size fool you. Webbing is just MUCH easier to deal with and less hassle when setting up.

What do you think about this webbing? This is the only site I have been able to find the gaiters I want/need, the rings, biner AND webbing. I'd like to order it all at once.

That link doesn't say what the webbing is made of, but being climbing webbing I would assume nylon. If that's true, then I'd recommend against it simply because nylon webbing stretches too much for your purpose. Polypro, or even better polyester webbing, would be a better choice.

You get a Biner, have a loop sewn on one end. Then use 2 rings or buckles. See the "Ring Buckle support" thread. It explains it all. Grab a tissue, your eyes may bleed.
