I always recommend to folks starting off to find and attend a group hang in your area even if it just to visit. You will be able to look at a wide range of set ups and most us will allow you to get into the hammock to see how it fits ( get permission first ).
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. I've been considering making a bridge hammock or giving the Ridge Runner a try.

Thanks everyone for your generosity and sharing of your knowledge and experience. I have ordered a wide dutch netless as well as a 12'. Both of these are thicker fabrics.
Still experimenting with different hang angles. If those dutch hammocks don't work I'll try the bridge hammock route.
Thanks for your encouragement and may you all be well!

If ya don’t splice, maybe add the adjustable Whoopi ridge line. These hammocks have a bunch of adjustment to play with if you have an adjustable ridge line. Dial them in just right. Good choices and good luck

Wide hammock is the way to go. I'm tall and tend to move around quite a bit during the night and have found a wider hammock suits my side sleeping and when I lay on my back.
