What is the absolute lightest carabiner you would put on your tree huggers?

This is just an item I am considering for total convenience. I can toggle but when you adjust the whoopie slings (which I installed today!) it seems like they might fall out. I have the Locked Brummel looped onto the spreader stay lines on my Bridge hammock so the adjustable eye is on the toggle.
hiya Bleemus, big progress day today sounds like.

Something amazingly lightweight you can do for your whoopie slings on the toggle.... take some very small diameter rope, maybe braided mason line (I used LashIt) and tie a whipping knot around the the two strands of the WS. Not too tight, you want to be able to slide it up and down the WS, but tight enough so that it stays put.

Put the WS over the toggle and slide the whipping knot up within an inch or so. When you adjust the WS one of the sides might bind a little, but just pull on both strands of the WS to straighten it out, and the bind will slide through the whipping knot.

The key chain beaners work for me on the tarps, but not at all for hanging with....
recently, I started using those big JUMBO ones from Harbor Freight, for my suspension straps and I like them... but I don't think you are looking at those ..

my biners are 1.6 oz per pair/0.8 oz each, and are rated to 1100#, that's lighter than the nano i believe.

Not the very lightest for a smaller size (36g I think), but BD neutrinos are proven & solid biners.

They look very good I currently have a pair of DMM Phantoms (made in Wales boyo ) which are full on climbing wiregates and only 26g each but I'm a slim chap and those 8g krabs look like a good alternative

What's the matter, too chicken to try out the Micro 0?

    Length: 41m m
    Width (max): 26mm
    max. 150kg (app 330 lbs)
    Weight: app. 3g (0.11 Oz)

For the more portly amongst us Edelrid have a 'karabiner' called an 'Aranya'
    Length: 73m m
    Width (max): 46mm
    max. 650kg (app 1,433 lbs)
    Weight: app. 12g (0.42 Oz)

I've been using my old climbing carabiners since I started hanging at a heftty 56g each, but have a set of dutch clips waiting to take their place. (and hopefully a loop shackles-connector/ nacrobiner? to take the place of my ridgeline biner)

I do too. I never saw the need for carabiners in that setup. I'm sure someone can justify it.

Camp Nano's what I use. They are on sale at Backcounty.com

    http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorge.../CMP0023M.html

I do like a slightly heavier oval biner because it puts less stress on the stitching in the webbing by not bending it around but its almost twice as heavy as the nano.

I'm hanging on the 13g Edelrid Aranya from extremtextil , has been under 140 kg loads so far and of course no problem i wouldnt dare to try hanging from the micro 0 but that micro 3 sounds ok.
Guess when i build another hammock i will get a pair of these and save another 6-8gramms !

my quilt is attached to micro0 though :P
