    Maybe a dumb question??

Sorry if this has been covered but due to a recent break in and my camping gear going, i've had to replace my hammock and I didn't like the way my ring were always attatched to my hammocks end, so since i've bought a new one I thought now might be the perfect time to try a different route, basically I have a loop sewn in one end of my webbing, pass the free end through to attatch to the tree then the other end goes to a carabiner which clips onto my cord which is attatched to my hammock through the channel, i tie a slippery half hitch behind the carabiner with another loop pulled through to secure it. The question is, even though it holds well is there likely to be any undue stress put on the webbing?, as when i undid the knot the webbing looks pretter scrunched up.

    here's what it looks like

    Thanks in advance

This is exactly the same way I use to do mine before making my own hammock and changing over to Whoopie slings...

Take a look at Shugs' and Professor Hammock's YouTube videos to go through the different sespension types.

just as long as the biner is a climbing one, not a key chain one.
my hammock gear weights total: 2430g (~86oz)
    Winter: total 2521 (~89oz)
(see my profile for detailed weights)

    gram counter, not gram weenie!
