    Custom OES 11x10

Yesterday I found my new tarp in my mailbox! I ordered a custom OES 11x10 with strategically placed tie outs to hang double hammocks in the V shape, closed ends for full winter coverage, and the baker hut setup. Since I can anticipate some of the questions already, the weight was 21oz in sil as measured in the stuff sack and without any tie-outs. I opted not to get cat cuts so I could maximize the number of pitch options. My thinking is that if you have a tie-out with cat cuts you have to use it or its really going to flap. Without cat cuts I'll be able to go in full porch mode without mid tie-outs. I know everyone likes the pictures so here they are...

I have read some negative reports on Brian's responsiveness. For the record, I made initial contact and traded a few emails on 3/11 and placed the official order the same day via email. Sent a personal check 3/12 and received my tarp on 3/25. I think thats pretty good!

I'm thinking of adding one panel pull at the center of each side to add some wind stability on those huge sil sides. Anyone have any comments to that effect?

From what I've seen it seems like most people add 2 pullouts on each side of the bigger tarps. 1. For more real estate inside. 2. Stress is less with 2 than with one on each side.

With that said, I just use one pullout on one side. This works fine by me. I usually want the space when I am sitting up doing something -- so having a center pullout on one side gives me the space where I usually need it.

If you use something like grip clips, you can experiment with the number and the placement before you sew pullouts on your tarp.

I don't have any comments to your question but thought I should say "WOW" that is a very nice tarp, you mentioned about you having it made to hang two under it, got any pic's of that?

I wish I did. Once it stops raining I'll probably mess with it a little. I don't have an adequate V tree arrangement in my back yard. I'm definitely going to try hanging off opposite sides of the same tree and see how it works out.

Does anyone have any experience using these with sil? I'm concerned it might leave a mark on my new tarp.

I've left my grip clip on for a while now, so I'm not certain of the marking.

I have a set of grip clips that I got from the Jacks, and only had them on for a short time but no marks left, I also have been using balloons in conjunction and haven't noticed anything as of yet, I do believe that Cannibal has been using them for quite some time now (or did), if he posts ask him or maybe you can shoot him a PM.

I've used grip-clips on my SWT. It leaves a little pucker in the material but it eventually goes away. No big deal to me. It creates a significant amount of more space inside. And I use two on each side.
